Death of a Child
In the unfortunate event that you are informed about the passing of a child, we kindly ask you to follow the steps below:
- Please gather as much information as possible to locate the child’s account in the BOS. The Child ID number is particularly helpful in this regard.
- You have the option to remove the child from the BOS, or you can request DWF Customer Support to take care of the removal process. Please send the Child ID number or as much information as possible to [email protected].
Before deleting the child from the BOS, please ensure to keep the Child ID number. Subsequently, reach out to [email protected] so that we can make every effort to halt any future deliveries.
PLEASE NOTE! Even if the child is removed from the BOS, up to 2 more books could still be in the mailing process. We understand the potential trauma for families when receiving these books and will do our utmost to collaborate with our distribution center.
You are welcome to extend your condolences to the family, but we leave the discretion up to each Local Program Partner.
If your BOS is connected to Mailchimp, your account should automatically sync and update. However, to ensure the family does not receive birthday/graduation notifications, please search your Mailchimp account for the email address associated with the child’s account and ARCHIVE their contact.
