BOS System Updates

BOS Parent Area Updates: We’ve softly launched a revamped parent area for all new families through their registration and approval emails. This initial phase allowed us to gather valuable feedback and make improvements, so everything runs smoothly when we fully launch for everyone at the end of September.
Census Data (US): The reports that use census data have been updated to include the latest 2023 information, ensuring everyone has access to the most current insights.

Graduate Data

Purpose of Report:
- To be able to view graduate-level data
What’s been updated:
- The following fields have been removed to address data privacy concerns:
  - Gender
- The following fields have been added:
  - Graduation Month - indicates the month the child graduated
  - Months Enrolled - indicates the number of months the child was enrolled
- The following columns were updated:
  - Middle Name is now Middle Initial
  - Spelling of Mnemonic Key was corrected
  - Street is now Address
  - Street 2 is now Address 2
  - Zipcode 2 is now Zipcode+4
Why was it updated:
- Users have been requesting historical graduate data for grant reporting.
- Some data points were added or removed based on recent requests.
Other things to know:
- Graduate data older than 12 months has been redacted to comply with our data privacy and retention policies.
- This report is visible to users with the following roles: Admin, Admin Assistant, Regional Director, Group Coordinator, Main Coordinator, Coordinator, and Data Clerk.
- If there is a - in the report field, no data for this field is available in the Book Order System (BOS)
- If there is a * or multiple * in the report field, the information has been redacted for data privacy compliance.
- If there is a ! in the report field, there is an error in the report.

Total Children Served

What’s been updated:
- Added filters so you can narrow down information by time period, age groups, and bill-to organizations
- Program Partner States filter renamed to States
Why was this updated:
- Users requested different data breakdowns to assist with their reporting.
Other things to know:
- This report is visible to users with the following roles: Admin, Admin Assistant, Regional Director, Statewide User, Group Coordinator, and Main Coordinator

Refreshed BOS Bulletin Board: We're excited to unveil our fresh, modernized look! We truly hope you love it as much as we do!
Automated Removal of Pending Children Who Have Aged Out: We're now automatically removing children who have aged out of the program while in pending status, helping to keep our information up-to-date and ensuring everything runs smoothly for everyone involved.

Updated Registration Forms- The registration forms on the LPP Enhanced Profile Page now automatically default to the bilingual version when Bilingual is chosen.
Penguin Random House (PRH) Permission Request Process- To enhance accessibility and efficiency, we are digitizing and streamlining the permissions process for the United States.

Registration Date Update -We're happy to announce that families can now register their child on the same day they're born.
View Password upon BOS Login - You now have the option to click to view your password as you type it in for easier access.
MailChimp List Sync -Good news for our MailChimp users! We've made some updates to the MailChimp List syncing feature.
Twitter References Replaced -All mentions of Twitter have been updated to X!
Parent Area Update: We've made it easier for parents to find the information they need and to update their profiles with a new Parent Portal
