Social Media Best Practices

These guidelines are designed to keep your pages safe, active, and help ensure that families in your area can always find and engage with your program.

This is what Facebook looks at when verifying a page. If you ever need to appeal a removal or respond to a challenge, this alignment with your legal name will make all the difference.

Important! Do NOT use Dolly’s name in your page title or her image in your page banner.

Also, be sure to set the page category to "Nonprofit Organization" and ONLY use your local program partner logo as the profile picture.

POINTS TO KEEP IN MIND

  • Name your page exactly as instructed above, NEVER include Dolly’s name
  • Use your local program partner logo as the profile picture
  • Use one of the banner options available in the Partner Success Kit—or a graphic or photo that reflects our mission of inspiring a love of reading
  • Do NOT use Dolly’s image in your page banner
  • Do NOT copy DPIL’s official banner image, which we update quarterly
