Updating Header Images & Text

1. Header Images
 
Create a header for every page of your Mini-Site that reflects the your program. Begin by moving mouse over the Editable Pages category. Select Header from the three options.

You are now on the Header edit page:



Enter a short name for your program or just enter you county or city.
 
Upload a picture image to this header. This image will appear at the top of every page. If you would like to select an image from your personal computer files click Browse and find the correct photo to display. Click Save when finished
 
*Note – Fields that are mandatory are marked with an asterick and cannot be left blank. 
 
Reminders About Adding Image Attachments:
  • Each image or document file must be 1mb or smaller.
  • All images must be .JPG format and contain no spaces in the file name.
  • Go to: http://www.yourwebsiteaddress.com/index.php to view the Header on your site.
 

2. Home/Welcome Text

 Create a Welcome Message on the home page of your Mini-Site for your online visitors. Begin by moving mouse over the Editable Pages category. Select Home from the three options.

 *Note - Below the text box, there is an option to switch mode from Design to HTML code.  If you are an advanced user you pay paste HTML code from third party sites, such as Paypal, for a donation button.
 
In the content section, write a brief paragraph of text that introduces your program and welcomes visitors to your new site. Consider including:
 
  • A mission statement about Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
  • The name of your specific program, city, and state.
  • Corporate Sponsors
  • A hyperlink to another website.
  • An e-mail address that will allow visitors to send an e-mail directly to the contact person in your program.
  • Be sure to click Save when finished.
 
*You can include a hyperlink by clicking the globe icon.
 
 Go to: http://www.yourdomainname.com/index.php to view the Welcome Page on your site.
 
 
3. Our Program
 
Create a section on your Mini-Site’s Our Program page with general information for your online visitors. Begin by moving mouse over the Editable Pages category. Select Our Program from the three options.

 

 

 In the content section, write a paragraph of text explaining all aspects of your program.
 
 *Note - Below the text box, there is an option to switch mode from Design to HTML code.  If you are an advanced user you pay paste HTML code from third party sites, such as Paypal, for a donation button.
Upload a picture image to this page. This image will appear above the text entered. If you would like to select an image from your personal computer files click Browse and find the correct photo to display.
 
Click Save when finished.
 
Go to: http://www.yourwebsiteaddress.com/program.php to view the Our Program Page on your site.
 
4. Events
 
Create an Events Page on your Mini-Site for your online visitors. You can include information here for upcoming events, as well as timely announcements, messages and graphics. Return to the administration area. Begin by moving mouse over the Modules category. Select Events or choose it from the left quick access menu:

 
 
This is the page where you make edits to events or add new events:

 

If you have an existing even then choose the green edit button from Actions column.
 
If you need to add a new event select New from the green bar.
 
When editing or adding an event you will see this page:
 

 

a. Enter information about your event at the top of this page, starting with the Name of the event.
 
*Note – Fields that are mandatory are marked with a * and cannot be left blank.
 
b. To enter the Date and Time of your upcoming event, click on the next empty field and an interactive calendar will appear.
Choose the date from the calendar then choose the time
 
Time selection:
Click on any of the time parts to increase it
or click and drag for faster selection.
 
c. In the description section, write a paragraph of text explaining your event.
 
Consider including:
A hyperlink to another website involved with this event.
An e-mail hyperlink that will allow visitors to send an e-mail directly to the contact person responsible for the event.  You can include a hyperlink by clicking the globe icon
 
d. There is also a section to upload a picture image to this page. If you would like to select an image from your personal computer files click Browse and find the correct photo to display.
 
Reminders About Adding Image Attachments:
Each image or document file must be 1mb or smaller.
All images must be .JPG format.
Filename must not have spaces.
 
e. Enter location information in the remaining mandatory fields starting with the address of the event.
 
f. Enter the city where the event will take place.
 
g. Enter the zip code.
 
h. Select the correct state.
 
i. Once complete, select ‘YES’ from the field marked Enabled. This will allow your online visitors to view the information you have entered above. If you do not want the information to be seen for any reason, such as the event has passed or been cancelled, simply select ‘NO’ to remove all information, description text and image graphics from your Mini-Site.
 
j. Click Save when finished.
 
Repeat steps a through j for other Upcoming Events.
 
*If more than one event is added and enabled, you can choose the Order that they appear on your Mini-Site. In the Actions column, select which event you want to be at the top of the Events Page and click on Edit. Entering the number 0 or 1 in the last non-mandatory field will make that event’s image and details appear first on the Events Page of your Mini-Site. The additional events can be ordered the same way starting with the number 2. Click Save when finished.
 
*If an Event needs to be removed from the site for any reason, you can click on Delete within the Edit mode. A warning message will pop up asking: “Are you sure to delete this item?” Once an event has been deleted there is no option to retrieve it.
 
Go to: http://www.yourwebsiteaddress.com/events.php to view the Events Page display on your site.
 
 
5. Skins/Design Templates
 
Select a skin/design template on your Mini-Site for your online visitors. Return to the administration area. Begin by moving mouse over the Modules category. Select Skins or you can select Skins from the left Quick Menu.

 
  
Select a Template from five design options. 
 
Click Save when finished
 
*Please note these are generic skins and the overall design can not be edited to remove certain elements.
