Meta Tags

Last Updated: Apr 17, 2013 11:55AM EDT
From the administration area, you can edit the Meta Tags for all seven pages within your Mini-Site. Meta Tags provide information about a given webpage, most often to help search engines categorize them correctly. They are inserted into the HTML document but are not directly visible to a user visiting your site. Meta Tags can be used to specify keywords, page description and any other data not provided. The search engines will begin to rank your pages highly as a result. Use the following tips for easy reference.

Select Meta Tags from the administration menu of your mini site.

You will then see the seven pages listed:

  1. Welcome to Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, Sevier County!
  2. Our Program
  3. Our Coverage
  4. Register Online
  5. Events
  6. Event Detail
  7. Contact Us

In the Actions column, click on one of the green Edit buttons.

In the Keywords box, add or edit related words for search engine optimization (SEO). These words should be appropriate to your affiliate and separated by commas. Remember to include synonyms, slang and so on. For example if you were editing a page on cars, you might want to use keywords such as car, cars, automobiles, vehicles, etc.

In the Description section, add or edit a brief explanation that reflects the content of that page. Depending on the search engine, this will be displayed along with the title of your page in an index. Keep this reasonably short, concise and to the point.

Click Save when finished.

Follow these steps for each of the pages in your mini site and try to make each page unique.
