Do all children receive the same books?

Each month a new, carefully selected book will be mailed in your child’s name directly to your home. The first book is always the children’s classic The Little Engine That Could™. Best of all it is a FREE GIFT to your child through our partnership with local organizations! There is no cost or obligation to your family.

Each child born in the same year gets the same selection of books, Here’s a quick look at our age groups for 2026 (these are based on the birth year, no matter the month):

- Group 1 (born in 2026)

- Group 2 (born in 2025)

- Group 3 (born in 2024)

- Group 4 (born in 2023)

- Group 5 (born in 2022)

- Group 6 (born in 2021)

We make sure children receive an appropriate book by allocating them to an age group based on their year of birth. For example, children in Groups 1 and 2 will receive board books or flexi bind covers with minimal text focusing on nurture and attachment, whereas a children in Groups 3-6 will receive a softcover picture book, covering more complex concepts.  A child enrolled from birth to their fifth birthday will build their own home library of up to 60 books.
