Mailchimp Integration
Suppose you use Mailchimp or would like to use Mailchimp in order to communicate with parents/guardians. In that case, you can integrate it with the BOS in order to have email addresses automatically sent to an audience for you. Mailchimp is the only newsletter service that is compliant with our data privacy policies; therefore, it is the only service that should be used. Here are a few essential things to know about the integration:
- The integration will automatically create an audience in your Mailchimp account. This audience CAN NOT be edited. Editing will break the connection, and new registrants will no longer be sent to your audience.
- Mailchimp has a free account for one audience with up to 500 contacts and 2,500 sends per month and a daily limit of 500. (There are paid plans once these limits are exceeded.)
- Your audience from the BOS will be ever-growing, meaning that as children graduate, they will not be removed from the list. You can use segments and/or tags using birthdates to target enrolled or graduated children if needed.
- The audience we provide is only to be used for communications related to DPIL. If you wish to send newsletters for other initiatives, you will need to establish another audience.
- As always, parents/guardians of enrolled children cannot be directly solicited for donations.
